I can't wait to get my Polar HRM tomorrow!

I'm very curious to see the difference between actual calories burned during my workouts and what MFP estimates.

LOVE mine... If I am going to be anal and track every single calorie I eat then I want to know EXACTLY how many calories I burned instead of a guess.

If I am confident in the numbers that I can be more confident in measuring my efforts at the gym...

The problem is, HRMs aren't exact either. They are still estimates, still based on averages. And they can be way off too.

I hate guesstimating. I'm hoping MFP is similar to what the HRM says. I am going to make sure I wear the chest strap for the most accurate readings. Not sure if it will be here before my bootcamp class tomorrow but I can definately wear it to my kickboxing class on Thursday.

HRMs aren't perfect but if you want a good estimate you'll be happy with Polar. If you give it all the information it wants and let it calculate your VO2max. That number won't be perfect but it will be pretty good. With all that data then Polar does a really good job of calculating calories. Still just an estimate but I don't trust any others personally.

I hav the Polar FT7 and love it. It is amazing how much we over estimate out calories burned. The HRM keeps it real!
