Ideas for Holiday Travel?

I have a pretty routine method for planning my days in terms of food—making sure I eat at the times I am typically hungry, planning around my schedule and activities, making sure I get my macros down. I plan every night for the next day and pack my lunches/snacks... but all of this is pretty dependent on me being at home, grocery shopping, packing meals, etc.
I'll be visiting my family for one week in December, over Christmas, and I know that their eating habits are a lot different than mine. They eat out a lot, don't eat a lot of the same types of foods I do, only eat a couple of times a day, etc. I'm not too worried about going over my calories during this time, but I do know that the last couple of times I went home, I followed their routine, and ended up feeling pretty sick after all the eating out, waiting too long to eat, etc. Then, of course, it's always hard to get back into the routine I've established when I return!
I want to try to keep these things going even while I'm traveling:
1) getting enough protein
2) being able to have snacks all throughout the day
3) being able to have the right kinds of snacks and options
I'm planning on bringing protein bars with me, and also asking if they could have a few things available for me in their fridge/pantry (it's my family, of course, they're more than willing to accommodate! They're really nice and supportive of my fitness and diet goals), and also just doing a little research on restaurants I know they like to go to or that we'll probably be visiting while I'm there, so I have an idea of what some good options are.
But I was wondering if anybody has some additional tips for traveling? What do you when you're away from home or staying at someone's house to stay on track and keep somewhat close to your normal routine?
