2lbs goal is gonna "unstuck" faster than 1lbs goal
  • Try not using all caps--it peeves some people. Aside from that minor point-- I'd say stick to your calorie goals and maybe add a weekly maintenance day or two. Also, change your workouts. Increase the intensity and/or duration.

Increasing your calories will allow your body to compensate for the deficit. While it can survive on a bare minimum of 1200 calories, that's still not enough for your body to get the nutrition it needs. When you plateau like this, it means that your metabolism has slowed enough to conserve the energy being lost. The recommended way to lose weight in a healthy way is to create a 500 calorie deficit -- this can be done by both diet and exercise, just as long as you are taking in and burning 500 calories less than what you normally eat. For example, if you used to eat 1900 calories a day, instead of limiting yourself to 1400 calories by not eating, you could just eat 250 less and burn the other 250. That way your body is using the excess energy rather than fighting to store it.

If you increase calories without exercise during a plateau, your body is only going to store it. Add in a little extra exercise time and you should be fine.

    Hope this helps!
