Can you tell?

Can you tell if someone is wearing clothing that is too big?

I lost most of the weight I want to lose (yay!) but I still have 15-20 more to go. I have bought some jeans that fit, but I still have some 'fat pants' that I want to keep for doing yard work/painting. Also, I'd like to wait until I lose ALL the weight before I go crazy buying new jeans.

The other day I was wearing some pants that were 2 sizes too big, and a friend said, "those pants are HUGE on you!" I thought she was just being nice, but I started to wonder.
Then I saw some pics that were taken on vacation, I was wearing those same pants, and I looked so weirdly shaped, I looked all fat and rumply. Those pictures were awful! (after seeing those pictures, I did collect about 6 pairs of jeans that are too big for me to donate)

I never really thought about it, but do you notice when someone is wearing clothes that are too big? Or do you think they are just trying to hide their weight?

It can go both ways. Some people do hide behind baggy clothes, thinking it hides their body.

When I first started this journey I couldn't really see my progress. A supportive friend at work said, those clothes are getting too big, time to shop! I don't wear tight clothes but she made me realize just how big some of my clothes were getting. Since then I've bought a few things down a size or two and I'm amazed at the difference. My wardrobe has been stripped of all too big clothes. Some were sold on craigslist, the rest are going to goodwill. Except for one dress that I will keep as a reference point.

my plan is to purchase a few things as I progress; won't have a choice cuz things have started to fall off and I have a way to go.

Congrats on your success! Celebrate it with a few pairs of jeans and some new shirts. You'll feel like a million bucks and will encourage you as you lose those last few pounds.

    Best wishes

People do notice things like that. If it won't set you back too badly (I don't know your financial situation), go to walmart and buy a couple of pairs of pants for 15-20 dollars each. When you're at your goal weight, you can use these articles as your yardwork clothing, or just donate them.
