How do you get your daily fibre?

At risk of giving TMI, I've been "blocked up" for a few weeks and my doctor has suggested I need more fibre in my diet. I don't usually log fibre on MFP and was shocked to see how low mine has been, so this probably is the culprit. I went to the supermarket on the look out for some fibre bars but the ones I used to get have been discontinued. I picked up some Alpen Light instead but will need 2 a day to hit my fibre target, which will end up being quite expensive in the long run.

Just wondering how you guys get your fibre...especially if you're in the UK?

sometimes I feel like all I eat is fiberrich foods

a couple of slices rye bread every day with tomato or cucumber slices

3-5 fruit of my choice as snacks

and I drink alot of water as well, that is the best combination and I am very please with the effects ;)

I had the same problem when I first started to lose weight, only my fibre was not low, I was getting plenty of it but still couldn't close the deal. Haha.

I started eating 3 prunes a day, and well....problem solved. I know some people don't like the taste, but if you can choke them down they might help. I'd rather eat a few slimy prunes than have to take a laxative.

Oh also, I found it helped me to start making sure I hit my Fat goal everyday, I kept upping my fibre, but when my fat was low, it still wouldn't work. So, fat, fibre, water....we'll have you pooping in no time. haha.

Just eat plenty of fruit and veg and wholegrains (bread, cereals, etc) and you'll get plenty of fibre. Add a handful of All-Bran or similar to your breakfast if you need to boost your fibre intake.

I'm usually well over my fibre goal without trying.

Fruit, Vegetables, whole grain, legumes contain a lot of fiber. You can also eat a couple of dried apricots or dried figs with a glass of warm water to start bowel movements.
