The Early 30's Cross-Roads:Introduction

Just introducing myself to the community...I'm a married guy in my early 30's and just a few weeks ago woke up to the fact that I had gained 30 pounds over the last 5 years and now feel disgusting. I'm married and have a young daughter so I got bit by the "focus on everything else besides myself" bug.

My goal is to get back to a lean strong 180 pnd 5' 10" frame like I had in my early 20's using a combination of diet and strength training. I'm focusing on being able to take my shirt off again in public by this summer, and to make my wife of 15 years swoon again (high school sweethearts).

I'm sure there are many of you early 30's ladies and gentlemen who are in the same life crossroads, by either remaining or furthering your obesity and running into health concerns with age or make the choice to sacrifice to look good, feel good and live a longer healthier life for yourself and your family...I look around and see so many people making the wrong choice at this point of their lives and just can't see myself living/looking like this the rest of my life, especially when genetically my family has heart issues. I want to watch my daughter grow up and be there for her at her prom, wedding etc etc and thats all the motivation I need.

I just started exercising and dieting about 1.5 months ago and have dropped 8 pounds quickly due to the shock of exercise and calorie drops after years of being sedentary. (I just found this site last week so I've lost 2 pounds using this app). My timeframe to lose another 25 pounds is 25 weeks at the start of summer. For me this is not just fat loss but muscle gains as well so I feel 1 pound a week is feasible and realistic as strength training will add muscle weight.

I'm fine with friending so feel free!
