Does anyone know if ABC shoe store has my shoe size? <----See the problem with that question?0 -
Proper indian restaurants always have spinach with that indian cottage cheese kindof thing. I would eat that.0

it is called Palak Paneer0

I would go with a salad and some tandoori chicken, everything else is mostly loaded with oil and curry powder..0

It depends on the toughness of your digestive tract. Some of those foods can wring your intestines out like a wash rag.0

Try tandoori chicken or lamb, raita (yogurt with vegetables and spices) roti (whole wheat flat bread) and steamed basmati rice (brown if available)
Not only do you need to watch out for the creamy sauces but if the restaurant is good the curries are all made with ghee which is clarified butter. Very tasty but not good for the diet0 -

Eat whatever dish sounds good and hope for the best when you plug it into the calorie counter. FFS you can't pre-ordain every single one of your meals unless you enjoy a sad life.0

Stay away from butter chicken, naan bread, or anything with rich sauces.
Ask for things with a dry rub.
A lot of indian dishes are vegetarian because of Hinduism. Eating a vegetable dish with rice is likely to fit into anyone's calorie intake for any meal!0 -

and I avoided the things that looked exceptionally oily or creamy and had small portions of everything else. Filled half my plate with garden salad. Didn't get to log anything until I got back but it all worked out to under 500 calories by my best estimate - INCLUDING some rice pudding for dessert. =D
Proof that portioning can make anything possible... just have to hope that the MFP stats were somewhat accurate.
It was truly delish.0 -
