Need to lose 42 pounds, any secret tips?!

Hey guys and girls,

So basically iv been trying to lose weight, as you would of guessed haha. I have managed to lose a stone in a year, I decided to take it slow and sensible and I have had a fair share of set backs along the way. I managed to get from 14 stone down to 13 stone. :)

I knew my weight in stones and figured out i needed to lose about 3-4 stone. Doing some maths that works out between 42-56 pounds.I would like to get back down to 10 stone (140lb)<< my old weight, maybe 9 stone (126lb) << even lighter then my old weight!

I was wondering if people could give me some tips and tricks that could help towards weight loss. I do eat lots of veg but lack in the exercise department!. I have decided to cut out coca-cola, christ have you seen how many calories in it?! And I am trying to break free from chips. I try to have porridge for breakfast, I am a very fussy breakfast eater, I dont like cereals, the ones I do like seem to be high in sugar. Otherwise it is toast or bacon sandwiches! Which I try to avoid now.

If anyone knows of any special teas etc that helped them to lose weight quicker please spill. I want to lose as much weight by nov/dec 2013 when I go to Australia and could actually wear a bikini!!!

There's no tricks, you just have to stay in budget. Weigh and measure all your food and log it faithfully. Even if you lose all the weight you want with no exercise you probably won't look good in a bikini. You need to do some strength training to build some muscle to look really good!

Drink water, coffee, or tea instead of other beverages - it saves a lot on calories.

Weigh, measure, or get a portion chart to estimate accurately.

    Log everything

Don't eat more than you're supposed to.

It's not hard. It just requires discipline.

No secrets. Ingest less calories in than you burn off. Exercise more.

This requires effort, but you can do this. You just have to do it and stick with it.

Measure everything you eat - buy a food scale if you don't have one. Log everything even if it's unhealthy as you go over - lies only cheat yourself. And, remember that you're human and will have days where you go off track - the key is getting back on as soon as possible. Oh, and the standard:
    1. If you're hungry, eat. This is a life change, not a punishment.
    2. Most people hit plateaus. Try mixing things up to get past them and don't let them get the best of you.
    3. Make every bite a choice. Cookies are sometimes good for the soul.
    4. Do you best to stay within calories every day, but remember it's the weekly average that really matters. I have a friend who eats low calories one day, and high the next.
    5. Everyone is different and what works for one person may or may not work for another. Be patient and you'll find your groove.
    6. Don't approach this as a "diet" - those things have short term success at best. Approach this as a life change - changing your eating habits to be the healthiest you can be.
    7. Don't compare yourself to others. Some people eat healthy, some people not so much. In this life, you have to find what works for you. And, that can change over time as your life situation changes.
    8. Look to the forums for advice and direction and research, but be open to differing opinions. There's gold in the forums and a lot of, um.... not gold.

And, always remember, YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
