1200 Net Goal - thoughts

I read on another post that 1200 net calories is probably too low for most people. Would love more feedback on that point.

What net calories settting have people been most successful with? I have been on MFP for about 7 months, but have given it minimal effort so have had really not results to go by!

I am 38.5yrs female and I have been bouncing around from 178-172 for the last two years since my third child was born.

Before my third child, my weight was pretty stable around 150lbs. I would like to get AT LEAST back to about 150s by next summer and ideally to about 135-140 as I go into my 40s.
