Low-Calorie Versions of Meals

It played out like a scene from a comedy - a group of my friends and I eating "low calorie" fettuccine alfredo trying to convince each other that it was actually good before bursting into laughter.
It was a lot of things; hot, filling, edible. The one thing it was not? Good.
Is it really worth it to try and eat these low calorie versions of food?
I don't know who else is with me, but there are so many cultures and preparation techniques for food that is healthy AND delicious.
I personally would rather hold off and earn the right to eat REAL alfredo!
What about you?

This is one of those things that I would eat the "Real Version" in moderation and portion control... I mean this is a lifestyle, why suffer if you don't have to?0
