Random weight gain (nothing too significant, but... wah.)

Gained about 2.5 lbs this week. I've started building new muscle groups, so I understand it could be water weight combined with the increasing weight of the muscle I'm building, but I would have thought that if I were burning fat I'd still be losing weight? I get that muscle weighs more than fat, but I can't imagine I gained enough of it to offset my weighloss by that much!
I've been VERY good with calories, too, and I exercise daily.
I've been hearing that upping your net intake is a good idea when things like this happen, so I'm going up to the maintenance goal for my height/weight which is 1650. Has anyone had success with an increased net?
I'm basically just looking for someone to ease my mind, I guess.

IMO If you gain more than 2 weeks in a row, then you might have a problem. I'd say keep doing what you are doing and see how it is in another week If you're still gaining, re evaluate. Otherwise, it could just be a fluke.0
