Feeling like I'm running in place

I'm new here, was given this site by one of my best friends, and it really is a wonderful tool on my road to the thinner me. I have always been a big girl, but the scale keeps creeping up. I can't seem to get it under control, just wondering what you all do to keep motivated, for a slow and steady weight loss. (I lost 65lbs after my son was born 12 YEARS ago, I've put all of that back on and then some, with more then 100lbs to lose, I'm just feeling discouraged.)

Welcome! It can be done! My best advice is to focus on smaller goals. If you focus on needing to lose 100 lbs it will see too daunting.0

Get some friends and commit to logging daily. And I agree with previous person about setting small goals. I want to get down to 160 and then will reconsider but in mean time I have made smaller goals, reaching 225 by xmas which since my weight loss is doing better than I had thought have changed to 220.
And I try to work out a little each day. Gardening, walking, on my pilates machine, ab work, house work, whatever. I tend to be very sedentary so any movement is a plus for me.
But really get some friends who are successful. It really helps a ton! Seeing their struggles and successes really helps me to keep going on.
You can add me if you want even though I am older. I really want to get healthy. Went on vacation last March and was miserable cuz we were so active. Next vacation I am not going to be in pain!

Set your goal and stick to it. Weigh and measure your food to be accurate and try to get some exercise in. There's no magic to it. If you eat within your budget the weight will come off.0

First of all ANYTHING can be done with motivation...It all starts and ends with YOU ! Start off by taking a few photos of yourself...you'll need to take repeat pics every month or so too. For some reason our mind doesn't compute what our loss might be. Sometimes it's pounds sometimes it's inches. And set small goals...it won't seem so overwhelming. It dosen't have to be jump right in to 1200 calories/day and hitting the gym 6 days a week.......how about I'm going to eat healthier this week while logging everything I put in my mouth and I'm going to walk for 10 minutes every day. After logging for a week or 2 see what the scale is doing and make adjustments. You have to be honest, perhaps get a scale to measure your portions and remember, you didn't gain the weight in a week or two, it's a slow process of loosing it and everyone is different. Just stick with it. Take what you hear on this site with a grain of salt. Best of luck to you !!0
