I am sick and I had the day off of work and working out (INSANITY day off) yesterday but today I have to work and workout even though I'm still feeling like death. Any advice on what I can do to make it through this workout tonight without dying?

skip it tonight...your body is telling you that you need to rest!

Why do you have to work out? If you are sick and badly sick you are not doing yourself any good by working out. Your body needs to rest and recover. I'd wait another day or two. Get your health and strength back. No reason for you to work out when you are sick.

I feel like if I skip it, I'm failing my workout. But I probably shouldn't push myself too hard when I have a really high fever and I'm feeling weak. :/

you need to just take a couple of days and get better... especially with a fever, your body is already working hard enough.

My fever was 103. Yesterday evening so I guess I should just take it easy today..

copied from CNN.....not sure what u got though....

Are you sniffling, sneezing and coughing? If you're like most people, you probably don't relish the thought of lacing up your sneakers and hitting the road (or the gym) when you have a cold or flu. But those who persevere when they're sick and don't break their exercise routine may be on to something. Some experts argue that moderate exercise can actually have a beneficial effect on cold symptoms, according to the American College of Sports Medicine.

Exercisers in general tend to catch fewer colds than their sedentary counterparts, research suggests. If done regularly, moderate exercise can halve the number of days you spend with cold symptoms, according to a series of studies conducted in the 1990s. While working out may help fend off viruses, even the most dedicated gym goer will come down with a cold at some point.

It sounds like you need rest. Rest and recovery are just as important as working out. Weight loss is really all about calories so I sometimes just focus on that on rest days, assuring myself that if I keep my calorie goal I will continue to lose, or maintain, or whatever my goal is.

    LOL xD

I'm sure sleeping all day and hardly eating due to fever is not going to kick you off your weight loss goals.

I get the "feeling like your failing your workout." Esp when you're on a schedule. But just go back to it in a few days. Fevers mean your body REALLY needs rest.

Take some EmergenC and feel better :):)

I did insanity while sick and congested....considering I could only give about 60% effort because I couldn't breathe, I was still glad I put in the work. A half burn is better than no burn at all :-)

Also, I felt tons better the next day.....

Thanks guys. I know I won't get fat if I don't work out but I wanted to keep on track with my insanity routine. If I still have a raging fever tonight I'll definitely skip instead of not being able to complete it. Thanks for the support though :)
