Tips - Office Party

My biggest weakness is portion control. Thank goodness for 100 calorie bags and prepackaged meals. Tonight my office is having a cocktail party (we have about 2 a month). I am good at rejecting the alcohol and can switch to diet coke after slowly nursing a glass of wine, but the food just gets me. All of those delicious treats coming around on trays. It is especially hard, because I'm usually very hungry at the end of the day - but even if I wasn't, that usually won't stop me. Any tips for not going nuts?

Try having an apple before the event. You will do better if you are not very hungry.

Carry your drink and/or water around with you. After you've had your allotted calories and fill, every time you want to reach for something, take a long drink and walk away. Sometimes those few seconds are all we need to get over an urge.

There's usually a veggie tray on the table at these things, so hit it. Gnosh on green stuff, broccoli-green pepper-cauliflower.

Watch the dressing, it's usually high octane full sourcream ranch.
