Afternoon Energy Burst

Just wondering, what's your goto item or activity to get that late afternoon energy burst that gets you though the rest of the work day?

    For me, it is protein. Sitting next to me on my desk is a box of KIND bars (Fruit & Nut Delight, but my favorite is just plain Nut Delight), a container of the peanut-butter pretzel bites from CostCo, and another container of Kirkland trail mix, again from CostCo. No more hitting the vending machine when the mid-afternoon munchies attack, and consuming a bunch of empty calories.

    Portions are important: the KIND bars are 190-210 calories each, a handful of trail mix (about 2 tbs) is around 110 calories, and seven of the PB pretzel bites is 120.
  • I keep similar handy snacks at my desk too. But I have to keep them out of site, or I just dig into them contuously. And close proximity to a fridge allows me to keep fruit and veggies nearby.
