To be honest, I wouldn't mind if all low quality snack food/sweet/chocolate/take away companies went out of business.

    all I heard was " I hate happiness "

All I heard was "I wish I could dictate what other people eat."

Oh hey! I recognize you! You're that lady that goes around telling strangers that their views are wrong unless they match yours. I've seen you in several forum topics telling people how to think. Well golly, I'm glad you strolled in here to work your magic. =)

Actually no. I'm the lady that appreciates our differences as individuals and wishes for everyone to live free. I believe it to be immoral to initiate force against others and rude to wish that you could control another person.

That's cute because I've witness first-hand that your behavior in these forums contradicts exactly what you just said. In fact, your original comment was inappropriately directed. You claim that you think it is "rude to wish that you could control another person" and that is exactly what the person was doing by wanting those companies out of business. She wanted them out of business to control what others ate. I on the other hand want them open so people have a freedom of choice. Therefore, if you believe what you claim, you're actually on my side.

Who cares? As long as I can eat Tastykake butterscotch krimpets, I'm happy.

Wow, it seems my comment was quite controversial.

I promise you, I don't care if someone else wants to eat low quality food.
I would just prefer it out of my sight.

I'm sure there's lots of better things people could eat anyway. I did specify "low quality"!
There's plenty of high quality, nutritious substitutes for these things!

That's hilarious. There is no company in America that is controlling anyone.

And when have you *EVER* seen me initiate force against anyone? That would be hard to do in an internet forum anyway. That is the guiding principle in my life, btw. It's also known as the Principle of Non-aggression. Maybe you are confused about the principle? Stating a contradictory opinion in a public forum is *not* using force at all.

You are young yet. Discipline is learned. :flowerforyou:

If you choose not to eat something, that's great. You must make that choice for you. Others clearly enjoy eating food that you believe to be "low quality," or there wouldn't be a market for them. Consumers want it, so they sell.

I have never heard of Tastykake until today. But where I live, Wonder Bread and Hostess snack cakes will be sorely missed by many. Lots of the unemployed workers will be in my area. :frown:

I guess I probably don't understand because I never eat the things.
I was just a bit surprised at the backlash. I'm not a dictator D:

Agreed. Another proud moment to be Canadian.
    Twinkies suck anyway.

I find it interesting so many are getting so upset that the twinkie factory in the US is shutting down...it just goes to show that not much has changed in their mentality when it comes to their health and diet. And those that have run out to buy a bunch of twinkles....just sad.

It just sounds bad the way you said it because it's as if you are saying that others should not eat them either. By wishing them gone, you have indicated that you don't want anyone else to eat them.
