How many carbs if Im a runner but still like to lose weight?

How many grams of carbohydrates should I eat if I am a runner but I'd still like to lose weight?

I did a research and the established amount of carbs for runners are 5-7 (or even up to 10) grams per 1 kilogram of body weight. That means I should eat between 300 and 420 grams of carbs a day. It just seems to me like quite a lot carbs when I still want to lose weight and I should instead of so many carbs eat more protein. So, I'm a bit confused here :P

I run 5,6 times a week for 30,40 minutes and I want to run more, so I'd really like my nutrition to be in order :/

Most people can lose weight without cutting carbs. I can't but that is due to a medical issue.
  • Eating carbs will not stop you from losing weight as long as you are at a calorie deficit.

You will hear various thoughts on this, but in my opinion you need carbs if you want to run well for long distances. You do not need to be eating low-carb to lose weight. I've lost 60 pounds over the years and I have never eaten low carb. When I was training for my recent half marathon I made sure I was eating a lot of carbs....the key is to make them complex carbs, not crappy simple ones.
