Body comp question

Does anyone here think that although body composition scales are notoriously inaccurate, they should at least give you a general idea of your stats?
I've dropped four pounds since Monday, some due to water weight from a bad weekend I think, but my scale is telling me that my bf % is the same while my muscle mass has dropped 3%. I haven't been doing the best job hitting my protein macros this week, so I guess I'm just wondering if anything thinks the scale could be telling me the truth?
In general I haven't paid too much attention to the body comp info on my scale, but I've also never seen a fluctuation this big. Guess I'm just looking for a little reassurance - or a kick in the butt!
