Hostess closing down: bad news for it's workers (I feel super bad for them!)
But good news that we can't be tempted by their deliciousness anymore. But there are still knock-off brands and other awesomely tasty sweets out there, so BEWARE!

And that completes my food thought for the day.

I feel bad for the workers, too but the business model of producing 'food' items (albeit tasting good to SOME people - but NOT me) that are unhealthy to the point of CAUSING health problems has been shown to be a FAILED business practice by consumers. Consumers are not going to WalMart to buy knock-off snack cakes at a lower price made in China, they are going to local bakeries, local cupcake stores, local fresh food markets that specialize in healthy pastries that are probably 2 or more times more expensive, but they are getting value for their dollar. They are getting delicious snack items that may be as high in calories per ounce, but have nutritional value of unprocessed ingredients in place of chemicals and plastics disguised as 'food'. The free market is beginning to say "We don't want fake food anymore!" and I for one am happy about that.
