couple of small succsses that made my day

Well I’ve been on here since early this year. Did pretty good for about a month or so, then for whatever reason I kinda fell off. I gained that back and it bothered me so I got back into it the beginning of October. So far I’ve been real good with my eating. To the point that the other day I ate some McDonalds fries and about 20 minutes later I felt sick. With being as busy as I am I used to live off fast food and now I’m to the point where that junk makes me feel like crap. So win there. Anyways, since being back I’m down about 20 pounds from where I initially started. Right now I haven't been doing too much running or working out (trying to figure out a routine and going to do way better at that in the very near future) but I am eating very well.
Well over the past week or so a few things have happened that have made my day and really got me pumped up. One was the McDonalds thing. Like I said, I used to live off fast food and now I just can't eat it. Same with coke and other pop I used to drink. Tried to have one last week and about threw up.
Also about a week ago, I went down a belt loop. To some that may not be a big deal, but that really made my day. My clothes fit better, and I’m almost down a shirt size too.
I’ve been packing my lunches and dinners to work for the past month and a half, and completely un-health related, but I’ve got a lot more money in my pocket. I’m loving the financial saving of that.
I play a lot of softball during the spring, summer, and fall. This year I wanted to get some baseball pants to quit tearing up my legs went I slide and dive. When I went to ****'s to buy some, none they had in the store fit me. I was pretty bummed that I had to "special order" some pants so I never did. I was in there last night doing a little early Christmas shopping and happened to see a bunch of baseball and softball gear on sale. I just happened to look through the pants and grabbed a size I tried on earlier this summer that didn't fit, hoping they would since I’m losing a few inches in the waist. I tried them on and they fit. So I bought myself an early chrisms present.
One big thing that has put a big smile on my face is my 8 year old son. I live alone (except the half time he is with me) so I don't really have someone to help keep me in line. I told him when I started back in October that if he sees me eating junk food or drinking pop, to yell at me and tell me to quit. He’s actually done that a couple times at first. Now he asks me all the time "is this healthy" or is doing this good for you." It’s pretty cool. Mondays are my weigh in days and he is with me every other Monday morning when I take him to school. Whenever he sees me step on the scale, he asks if I lost weight and says awesome things like "great job daddy” or "you're awesome" then gives me a high five and a hug, and that just puts a big smile on my face for the whole day.
But the biggest thing to me was what happened Wednesday night. (even though my Monday mornings with my little buddy are hard to beat). As one of the jobs I work, I teach percussion at my old high school. We had a rehearsal on Wednesday. Well during one of the breaks, I went out in the hall to refill my water bottle and one of the girls in the group (that I’ve known for a long time) stopped me in the hall. First she said "not to be mean, but have you lost weight?" I told her I did and she gave me a little pat on the back. She then told me that I’m looking good and kudos on losing weight. Now some may think that's not a big deal, or weird cuz a high school girl is saying that to me, but it's nice for me because after this month and a half, she (other than my son who knows I’m really doing this) is the only person to notice or say anything and cuz I’ve known her for so long and worked with her for a few years, she's kinda a little sister.
I can't post pictures in here, but my main profle pic is from Wednesay night. I just feel a hundred times better too.
Anyways, just a few things I thought I'd share. Thanks for reading (wow that was longer than I anticipated).

Nice work! Love that you were able to walk into the sports shop and buy pants off the rack! I did the buying pants thing in the shops yesterday too, a few months ago I tried on a size and it was too small but the next was too big, I went in yesterday and the biggest size they had was a size smaller than the one that was too small before, I tried them on and they fitted! I was so excited, I couldn't get the smile off my face. Lovely that that girl noticed your weight loss too!0

You should be very proud that falling off the wagon, so to speak, did not end your journey. And, if you ask me, a beltloop is, indeed, a big deal. Congrats on your big deal, and I wish you much success as you continue. The success of others motivates almost as well as my own successes do. So, thank you. :happy:0
