I am in desperate need of exercise. Except I have a broken leg that needs to be fixed by surgery. Surgery will happen late January/early February. Any suggestions of how to exercise when I can't really use one leg?
My doctor suggested swimming, or a stationary bike. Any other suggestions?

Any kind of lifting that doesn't use the lower body. Various curls and presses should be safe enough. I'm a bit surprised by the stationary bike advice, that's pretty leg intensive. Swimming is where I would focus for cardio.0

My gym has a hand bike...maybe yours does too...looks like great cardio!!0

Shadow boxing or as silly as it might sound look for the old "sit and be fit" programs that were created for people who are less mobile.0

Plenty of upper body exercises for sure.
Pull ups
Push ups
Curls
Seated press
Front raises
Side raises
If you don't have any you may invest in some dumbells. Maybe 7-10lbs
Good luck0
