Hi there. I'm Mary..38..single mom of 2...I work in the healthcare field and see firsthand what being overweight can do a person. I am currently "healthy" (decent cholesterol levels, normal BP) and want to remain so. I would also like to find myself in a relationship. I have been divorced for over four years and, whether or not we like to admit it, dating gets harder as you get older. The pickings get slimmer (no pun intended) and, as we all know, men see the exterior first:/ But, hey, that's biology!
I stand at 5'7", started at 200 lbs, weigh 195 now (gasp) and my goal is 155. One thing I do have going for me is that I have always been curvy and that takes up some of the extra weight. However, I can do without the love handles and back fat!
I started taking Zumba two weeks ago and have been every day-sometimes twice-since! I have also tried Kickboxing, Cardio Dance and Bellydancing. I'm not too coordinated but at least I am moving. I would like to start running, but I gave birth to two babies over 8 lbs and my pelvic floor is weakened(sorry if TMI...I am sure the moms out there understand) ..so I am taking it slowly for now.
I am following WW and am doing ok with that. I don't attend the meetings as I consider the topics no brainers. But I do weigh in here and there and feel that the plan is workable
I wish everyone out there continued health. Be proud that you are trying to better yourself!
