Logging sugar-free gum and breath mints: yay or nay?

They have so little calories, I'm not sure if it would really make a difference. But I hear you should log everything, so I assume that would include sugar-free gum and breath mints. What do you think? Do you log sugar-free gum and breath mints?

Honestly those <5 calories really won't make a difference unless you eat a bunch of them every day... but a lot of people just like to have a complete record of everything they put in their mouths, or they are just very thorough and meticulous about their calorie goals. Personally, I don't log it simply because I don't have them very often. But if you're a person who chews 6 pieces of gum a day or eats a few mints after every meal, it might be a good idea to plug it in just keep yourself from chowing down on a whole container of Tic Tacs just because they are low calorie, you know?

Yes. It adds up and you may notice it was more than you expected. Tracking it lets you be more aware.

I have to log it, because if I buy gum I'll chew the whole pack in a day.

I chew gum all day every day... I don't log it. It's too minuscule to care about personally

Too small to make a difference.

I rarely chew gum and I don't log mints.
  • I fly through sugar free gum every day but I don't log it because it stops me from eating other foods/lollies/chocolates that would be a hell of alot worse. If i started logging it I know i'd become obsessed and give up gum and then struggle with eating lower calories :P
