The first phase of Atkins, a popular low Carb diet is 20 grams/day. I am in the second phase. I am having 25-30 per day. I've lost 61 pounds since February. Atkins is not for everyone but it works for me. Just be prepared...if you go low Carb, you will feel rough the first week!! But it goes away and then you feel great!!0

Very low carb - under 30 grams
Low carb - 50 to 100 grams
Moderate carb - 100 to 200 grams
High carb - 200+
edited 'cause I just realized I'm missing from 30 to 50, but not sure if I'd put that in the very low or low.0 -
According to dlife.com. a diabetic web site/ recipes
Anything under 15 grams per serving of carbs is considered low carb. What you consider low carb for a day is a different story.

20 grams a day. that is very low, though, and hard to stick with. we used to do atkins in our house growing up when my dad was dieting.0
