Go for some Ska, Mighty Mighty Bosstone, Streelight Manifesto, Sublime, Reel Big Fish, Saving Ferris.

If you want something really different Manu Chao is awesome!

This is more on the 'pop' scene but check out Dia Frampton. Most of her songs fall into the "love song" and "romance" (both good and bad) categories. But some of them have a deeper meaning behind them like this one:

    Notes from the artist...
    Dia Frampton
    "Walk Away"
I wrote this song about a girl who was "given" to her father's friends for entertainment at the ripe age of eight. Yes, true story. However, for the sake of her discretion, I won't say any more. It made me very upset to hear the story, but even more upset to hear the ending. She never got any revenge, so I wanted to give it to her. In this song, she's going back to get 'em!

    This guy is cool!

Came here to write all the exact same bands lol except I would add The Expendables, Stick Figure and The Dirty Heads to that list
  • I like Willy Moon, his song is featured in the new iPod commercial, the one with all the iPods bouncing around. He's a funky crooner, like 50-60's music with a great beat.
Also currently into The Lumineers, Foster the People. Hollerado...
Liking: Knife Party, Wolfgang Gartner, DJ Blend, Kill the Noize, Diplo, Tiesto, Skrillex, Deadmau5,

I'm a little schizophernic when it comes to music
