Hey...I have about 50 pounds to lose that I am trying to lose for the last three years. Have recently disciplined myself to eat clean and begin a program of yoga pranayama. No gym exercise so far. Eat around 1,000 calories daily as I am a petit woman of 5.1. Fishing for Support and motivation from all of you !!!!

I'm no expert, but I'm going to say that 1,000 calories a day is very low. Where did you get this number?0

1000 calories is probably too low even for someone who's very short.0

I eat about 2600, but that is just me heehee. I could never be a fence-grazer. Good luck. I would say though, that if you need to lose 50 lbs, then you need to remain active, and read the labels on stuff. It makes all the difference. Protein/Carbs are 4 calories per gram, fat is 9 calories per gram.0

I do think you are at a great place, though. There is tons of support on here. MFPers are changin the world, and will soon be the next Facebook, Gen 2, believe you me!
If you are short, and are just about as overweight as I am, then I think you wil need to lose the weight if you do not want to be in a wheelchair in about 10-15 years. Your knees will give out, and then it will be too late. I know, as my grandma went through 4 knee surgeries, 2 lipos, and a breast reduction. So great choice to do it! Go for it!0
