Favourite New Foods/Recipes since joining MFP?
Since starting MFP I've been trying lots of new foods and recipes and I was curious to find out what new things others have been trying. I'm always looking for new foods and recipes that are both tasty and nutritious. Some of my new favourites are;
Hungry Girl Growing Oatmeal Bowls - I tend to adapt these to suit my tastes since I don't like using artificial sweeteners or creamers. So far I've tried the PB & J Oatmeal Heaven, Maple Bacon Oatmeal, Pumpkin Oatmeal, and my favourite, the Apple Pie Bonanza Oatmeal. They usually make about 2 1/2 to 3 cups of oatmeal and they are so so good.
Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal Smoothy - Like drinking pumpkin pie. The oatmeal makes it quite filling, and pumpkin and banana add a warm fruity taste.
2 Ingredient Pancakes - 1 mashed banana mixed with 2 eggs? Who knew right?
Eggplant & Olive Hummus - I've been using this to make pita pizzas, it's a great substitute for tomato sauce.
Quinoa Mac & Cheese - I had only tried quinoa once before and I hated it but I decided to give it another chance and this was the perfect recipe.
I'm going to be picking up some tofu today, again I've only had it once before many moons ago but I want to give it another shot so hopefully that'll be something I can add to the list. If you like the sound of any of the stuff listed above please let me know, I'd be happy to share recipes.
