alcohol

what kind of alcohol is in maddog 20/20? I've just started dieting and I've had this in the strawberry kiwi flavor yesterday so I'm kind of curious just what kind of alcohol I had to drink. All it says is "wine"--is it really just wine? I looked up calories and I know now that this drink is completely OUT of my diet plans! I just can't seem to find the spot that tells me exactly what's in it...anyone know or know where I can look? Thanks

Have a look, it's described as being:
"As majestic as the cascading waters of a drain pipe...."

I do believe it is wine.
I'd highly suggest Boone's Farm, Night Train, Thunderbird or Ripple instead.

I thought Mad Dog was malt liquor - essentially beer.. but if it has fruits in it, maybe it is wine.

    THIS SOUNDS DELICIOUS!
  • Mad Dog is something that I drank in highschool when i didn't know any better. Choosing an alcohol drink was the hardest thing for me because i love me some booze! I hate beer, I hate wine, and I hate Bacardi and Diets. I'm a vodka girl through and through and I was drinking the super sugary flavorded vodka for the longest time. SILLY ME!! Here's what I found in chooing my new and improved drink of choice. 1) 99% of the time you won't have nutrition lables on alchol beverages. You have to google search them. It's insane how many calories you can consume during a night out! 2) The best hard liquor for you is Bacardi. 3) The best mixers for you isn't necessarily Diet Coke; It's a selzer, or tonic. My new drink is a Vodka, Selzer with a splash of cranberry. The cranberry breaks up the stiff taste of the vodka and gives you some antioxidents to boot. Cranberry Juice is high in calories so you really only need a splash. One drink is 85 calories.

Most people that drink this are more worried about finding newspaper to stuff inside their coats for warmth than the calorie factor. Don't be fooled by the smoother fruity flavors, only the original grape is 18%. The others are a paltry 13%. Don't get swindled out of 5% alcohol and stretch your bum dollars as far as you can. Go with the grape. Of course the variety of empty bottles in your shopping cart does look prettier than just one single label.

Not sure it's actually wine. Malt liquor maybe, or grain alcohol? Whatever it is, that *kitten* is nasty. Might I recommend rum, whiskey, or even vodka instead? Less additives, fewer calories. Depending on the quality, less hangover.

When I'm getting my swerve on, antioxidants are the least of my concern. (how many antioxidants are in a splash of cranberry juice, anyway? Considering the fact that many [read:most] juices aren't 100% juice anyway?)

Yeah this is what high school kids usually con their older siblings into buying for them... I drank it once, and once only. Agreed, Boone's Farm is a superior cheap wine.

Hahah in college we had the "MadDog Challenge". Basically it was binge drinking as many flavors of that crap as we could find to the point where we couldn't see straight. I've never had a worse hang over than after drinking MD2020. We just liked it because it didn't taste like alcohol and it was like $2 a bottle. Boone's farm was our other "wine" of choice that was in the same price range and disgusting factor.

Then I turned 21 and my taste was refined. I switched to PBR and Natti light. LOL.
