Hi,
Ive been on my fitness pal for a couple of months now but i have a vacation coming up. Of course, I totally hear that.
If you have access to the website, use it when you can. Otherwise, eat foods that are familiar to you and don't forget to exercise. 20 minutes will do wonders, and an extra 10 will help if you're feeling doubtful. Give yourself a splurge day since it's vacation and enjoy. Don't stress too much, but don't forget self control. You'll do great0 -
I would manually track it and use the websites for knowledge...its pretty easy to find calorie and food content online these days. Its important not to fall off on vacations and I try to maintain a good balance of healthy eating, exercising while still having fun. I will usually pick the early and mid meals and stay focus and on my diet plan, and then cheat a little in the evening...any mix of that is good too, but at the end you want to make sure you are enjoying your vacation too. Just have fun, stay focused when you need to, and by now you should be learning about what you body works best with and stick to those foods and diets. Good luck and have fun!0

I have just beeen on a two week vacation to the US. Usually I put on at least 7lbs. Whilst I am away. Most days I had no way of knowing how many calories I had eaten but took a best guess. I kept off the doughnuts and all the obvious things that I know not to have. I had the odd burger and fries and had a couple of drinks in the evening. On the other side, I did 50 lengths of the swimming pool most days and I also walked for miles. I put two pounds on which I was pleased about. I didn't feel deprived at all and was happy doing the exercise because it was more like fun. The 2lbs came straight off when I got back, so no harm done.
Have a great vacation and don't worry too much. The weight, if any will come off if you get straight back to it when you come home.0 -
You could log you food manually, pen and paper costs nothing, or else just keep tabs in your head and be sensible with treats and portions.
I went on vacation for a week in September, I ate out most days, had treats and pudding a few times and some alcohol, and managed to lose 2lbs when I weighed myself when I came back. Every morning I walked very briskly for an hour (brisk enough to work up a good sweat) and then we did some walking throughout the day. I didn't eat in between meals and made sure to drink my usual amount of water.
I was pretty nervous about going on holiday thinking I'd put on a lot of weight, but getting in some exercise was the key :flowerforyou:0
