The "gain weight" part of the goal

If I were to say my goal was to "gain weight", they would understand that I meant muscle, correct? I know this may seem obvious to most but I have to ask.

Who's "they"? If you're talking about the average person on the street, they probably would just think you wanted to get fat for some odd reason. If "they" were weight lifters, they'd probably understand if you called it "bulking" as opposed to "gaining weight".0
