Weight gain message by MFP
Options
I was wondering that MFP gives the message when someone loses weight (and we get encouragement from the friends) but there is no message when we gain weight:) I think either a sympathetic or a sarcastic message from MFP should be effective for the people like me who are slacking or the people who are not doing enough!! What do you guys think?

Pretty sure there is an option to have a notification on weight gain, check the post settings.0

Think they probably don't do that because, unlike many of us, they know that the numbers on the scales fluctuate for many different reasons, not just because we're slacking.
If I gain I usually just write my own message, analysing what's happening with me, and my friends can comment there if they want.0 -
Sorry false alarm, I checked.... It's not there. Ignore me.0

What I'd do is just make your own announcement to your friends, " Hey guys, just "checked in", and I gained 2 lbs FYI"........I'm sure you'll get some feedback. Just be honest about it, like a NVS or something else.0

Some people are here to gain weight, ie bulk up.
They are waiting for a ticker that goes up and relevant messages.
Messages telling them they're going the wrong direction are no good.
get your friends to nag you.....0 -

I would like this option too. I expect my weight to go up and down a bit, so I'm not going to be put off by a message saying I've gained as long as it doesn't come across as critical
. I weigh daily, so sometimes it looks like I'm losing a pound every couple of days, when in fact it's the same pound I put on the day before. It seems that the only weigh to avoid this would be not to log when I put on weight, but I don't want to do that as I'm trying to keep track of my weight.
I agree that it would also be useful for people who are trying to gain weight.0 -
Wait! But if you put your goal to gain weight wouldn't it work the same ? For example if they did implement a message to show you your slipping when you gain weight but your goal is to lose weight .. Like " so n so has gained 3 lbs they might need some encouragement " lol it could work the same when you set your goals,, like " so n so has gained 2 lbs!" Just a thought lol0
