Motivation in strange places...

I have a part time seasonal job at a major retailer. I was working in the "intimates" department the other day and ended up straightening the panties. I came across some that are super cute, and super cheap, alas my *kitten* won't fit in them yet. So, I decided that I wanted to ramp up my plan because dammit, I want to wear those panties!! (I would be even happier if I could buy them with my employee discount).

So what random things have motivated you?

My job requires wearing a uniform, dress pants/shirt, belt. I needed new pants, ordered them. When they came in I went straight to the seamstress for my usual hem. I didn't try them on as I have worn the same size for a few years now. Get home, try them on, too small...too small!!! So I had to order the next size up and was so disgusted with myself. It was at that moment I came to the conclusion "only you can change this". Rather than beat myself up, which never works, never mind long term. I just decided to get started. Take it a day at a time, set small goals, rather than getting overwhelmed with the big picture. To date I am 84 days into my lifestyle change and have lost 26 lbs.

One weird thing that started the journey for me was I wanted to take my husband zip lining through the mountains here in Colorado. He loves stuff like that and it was going to be the best gift, that is until I read the small print. Women need to be180 lbs. or less. I was so upset. Then I thought why be upset at them, they are just trying to be safe I'm the one that needs to lose some weight. This summer I am well under 180 and plan to do it for my husbands birthday.

    Well done!! Congrats!!
  • I would have bought those panties and hung them up someplace where I could see them all the time but not look like a crazy person ;-). You can do it girl! You have come so far already, it's only a matter of time :-). The first 30 is always the worst but once you're in that rhythm, no one can stop you!

It's funny you should mention that, I wanted to do that with my kids last summer and sadly I didn't meet their weight requirements. So, 2 things on my weight loss bucket list: zip lining and skydiving!

I work for a designer and she used my measurements to do a sample-plus size, halfway between sample size and plus size. I retaliated by losing 10 inches all over my body in 2 months and effing up all the patterns. Our Ukranian patternmaker keeps strangling me in Russian every Monday.

I wouldn't call it strange, I have put a nice maxi dress on my furniture in my room on a visible place, because although I have soo many motivations that keep me going I am a visual person so seeing my dress every day really helps me and I visualise myself in it with my nice future collarbones showing , nice hair let down and cute feather earings. :blushing: A visual reminder I can not ignore
