I have a dog, his name is Vito, and I know what I think he's a mix of, but what do YOU see? :flowerforyou:

Oh, and he's roughly 55 lbs.

    o he is so cute. He is for sure part mastif, bull mastiff, and I'd guess german shepard too.

    His nose is a lot shorter than a Shepherd, so I don't see that so much.

    It's interesting that you guys said Bull Mastiff though, I guess I can see that, never thought about it before though!

    I agree with pit bull, from that "smile" in the second pic. I've always thought maybe boxer also?

    Freaking cute dog by the way! I own a mutt too. There's definitely shepherd in there, mine is a shepherd/rottweiler mix and yours has the markings.

    yeah he def has some german sheperd in him; and pit bull. He's too cute!!! There is a dna test you can do on him (most vets can do it) it would be interesting to see what all he has in him.

    Interesting that people say mastiff.....they have a mature weight of well over 100 lbs. given your dogs age, weight, and general appearance, I would have to say pit bull shepherd cross.

    Basically he looks like a puggle met a pretty German Shepherd to me.


    ETA: the "smile" pic makes me think some version of pitty in there, too.

    He *might* have some Staffordshire Bull Terrier in him - but definitely not APBT or AmStaff.

    I would actually lean toward Boxer over Bull Mastiff, based upon body size and shape.

    So, probably German Shepherd, Staffie, and Boxer.


    ETA: was responding - didn't see that riverside posted the same breeds.


    OK - may I hijack your thread, and see if anyone here can figure out my dog's breed?

    I think he's a bit small to warrant the mastiff idea, though I can kind of see it in the face. But I think that could come from the pit bull portion.

    Definitely looks German shepherd/pit bull.

    Yes, but the GOOD DNA tests are expensive. My wife works at a veterinarian's office, and has had to have tests done.

    There are cheaper ones out there, but they only have about a dozen or so breeds, and not always the ones you'd expect.

    Regarding original dog, not new one.
    I think shepherd and pit most likely, other things also.
    Mastiffs are massive, and this dog isn't.
