How long was it until you started seeing results when you first started your fitness journey? And where was the place you noticed results at first!?

I didnt see results until i stopped doing it for the results and just concentrated on the work. I had to prove to myself that I had integrity and determination and that I was a badass - when I could keep up something consistently, CONSISTENTLY for a MONTH, then my body rewarded me.
But when I stop every week to see if I have results yet, my body withheld results liek a pissed off wife withholds sex.0 -
As far as fitness goals, I was able to go from not being able to run a quarter of a mile to running a mile and a quarter in less than a month, so I was pretty thrilled about that. More thrilled when I was running 5k a month later.
In terms of weight loss and noticing changes in my body, that took longer. Part of the problem was that, without really realizing it, since I'd gained a little extra right before losing, I was only wearing a few of my most forgiving jeans. So as I was losing, I was able to wear the jeans I'd been subconsciously avoiding. In retrospect, instead of thinking, "Woohoo! I'm shrinking!" I thought, "Damn... I'm doing all this work and my jeans still fit the same." But they didn't. The jeans I stopped wearing fit again. Thankfully, reaching my fitness goals was a bigger deal to me and kept me motivated until my brain caught up a little.
I probably would have noticed changes faster if I'd been taking progress photos from the beginning, but I didn't start taking them until I was halfway to my goal.
In short... I think it's all a matter of where you're looking for results.0 -

haha, your too funny. And I know your right. I swear I know I have to stop checking for results all the time but it really gets hard some days. I need to learn patience. lol.0 -

I saw scale loss right away. It took two months before I dropped a clothing size (and 30lbs) and I've lost a few inches from various spots. I only *just* started seeing it when I look at myself, and my strength also increased right away. But genetically, I will probably have an easier time with strength based on what I know of my parent's fitness.0

^^ Yes this!!! I've been at it for 55 days. The scale shows 15 pounds, which I know I should be happy with but.... My biggest motivator is what the quote says about showing I have the" integrity and determination and that I was a badass" I do not want to quit. I find I feel so much better when I get my workouts in. I want to show the world they can suck it. I want to be strong and fit and able to do all the things that I couldn't before. It's not always easy though. For example, my measurements went up this week. Sucks big time, but I know I am going to keep with it because I can feel my body changing even if I can't see it. I never wanted to exercise before. Now my body and mind crave it. Hang in there! Oh and it's so important to have great friends here on MFP! Mine have kept me going, supported me and kicked my butt when needed. Friend me if you need someone else.0 -
I started seeing results when I stopped expecting immediate and noticeable changes in the scale and mirror every day.
When my attitude became relaxed and I truly understood that losing weight is not worth stressing over/freaking out about. When I started placing fitness and ability over pants size. When I realized that moderation would give me a lifetime of success, whereas "dieting" would only provide temporary results.0 -
I didn't start REALLY seeing it until recently - when I comparred my before picture to a recent one though I was absolutely shocked I hadn't seen the change before.
The very first thing I really notice was my ring fit again - I had been wearing it too tight for two years but wouldn't jepordize my pride so uch as to have it made bigger - I noticed when it started sliding off my finger without the twisting, tugging, ridiculous effort it took before0
