Hello Everyone! my name is Mikaela, and only a month after joining MFP in May, I found out I was pregant with my first child. After making sure that it was not in fact The Antichrist, I have taken to embracing this pregnancy! Well, mostly. I am definitely ready to get back on track with my weight loss post baby, but right now I want to simply stay healthy for my little girl, Isabella Rose. As I am nearing my due date, I realize that being preggo in my eggo has some interesting side effects. Good and bad.

Things I shall miss:

*Being given free gifts simply because I am with child
*Never having to open a door myself
*Exciting ultrasound appointments!
*Meeting very nice strangers who like to talk about their kids
*My mother in law is nice to me! (who knew that could happen?)
*The pure joy of feeling Isabella kick
*The smile I get every time I think about my baby
*Learning interesting human body functions during pregancy LOL
*I suddenly have the ability to stand up to my mother, because well, she does not know EVERYTHING
*Nobody says no when I want a deep fried burrito (maybe they should?)
*My nails look pretty all the time
* Delicious gummy prenatal vitamins
*Watching the father of my child show an unprecedented passion and zest for our future
*BABY SHOPPING. SO. FUN.
*Being able to share something so exciting with others
*Sexy time happens way more often around here. (YAY!)
*Comparing the size of my child to fruit. "Isabella now resembles a pear" lol
*This strange, quiet contentment with myself for once.

Things I will most definitely WILL NOT MISS

*Throwing up just because my stomach says so
*Random people touching my belly (back up crazy, how about I rub your midsection?)
* Being only able to sleep on my side (if you can call what I do sleeping...)
*Hearing every "parent tip" under the sun from people who have never had a kid
*The sudden random terror that I will be the worst possible mother ever
* I haven't been able to paint my toes in two months
*Heartburn that is radiating my kneecaps (YAY!)
*My never had children, single friends think I have a terrible disease and they must stay away
*Crying when I am sad. Also crying when I am happy, angry, sleepy, hungry
*Sometimes all I can think about is a donut
*Expectations that others have "You're going back to work in a month, right?"
*Some days having enough energy to bathe if I am lucky
*My cat doesn't trust my stomach. I don't blame her
*Sexy time has been replaced with discussing what to do if I poop in the hospital time
*Feeling the urge to stick parts of my overheated body into the frozen meat section while grocery shopping
*This newfound worry that my two very rowdy dogs might be baby killers
*Sitting in a theater and watching a 2 hour movie without farting is impossible
*I do not have complete use of my faculties
*Random dreams that I am getting it on with an elephant. (why?)
*Fuzzy slippers are no longer just for when I am home
*Waiting!
*If I drop something and no one is around, it is gone. Forever
*Having things I don't want tested, tested by my doctor
*People assume I am using formula/breastfeeding (my decision)
* My mother in law calls me 3xs a day to "just talk"
*My man has to put my own socks and shoes on my feet
*The inexplicable Hangry (hungry angry) I get at 3:00 in the morning when there is no cereal left

AND MANY MANY OTHER THINGS

I can honestly say that so far, the good absolutely outweighs the bad. I didn't even imagine I would want to have children, and now my life is open to an entirely new and exciting avenue. What are some of the things my preggo/mommy friends miss/don't miss? Feel free to friend me!

First pregnancy was awesome - if I could've been guaranteed another pregnancy like that....I wouldn't have closed the shop.
2nd pregnancy was the worst. Okay yes it was great to feel him kick for the first time, but we had M/C 6 months prior so I was a nervous wreck, I was continuously sick, I was in major pain, he dropped really early and I could barely walk, I was miserable. My hubby was so glad when I was no longer pregnant with him.

With fear of a 3rd pregnancy being worse.... SHOP IS CLOSED!!!!!

Loved being pregnant....even when I had sciatic pain with kid #2 and couldn't wear normal shoes (only flip flops in the winter) because my feet were insanely swollen with kid #3.
I even gained 60 pounds with each kid (lost most of it each time luckily).
First time I had a pedicure was with kid #1....best thing ever especially if your feet are swollen, and mine were terribly swollen with all 3 kids.
I would have more kids if not for certain circumstances (my age and daycare situation).

The ONLY thing I miss about being pregnant is feeling a baby move. Absolutely fascinating.

In addition to all of the things you said you won't miss (which are hysterical, by the way), I do NOT miss:

*Peeing every time there is a jolt of some sort to my abdomen (coughing, sneezing, throwing up, laughing, jumping, etc.) - BTW, this will stay with you AFTER pregnancy. Have a pad and some back-up panties with you at all times. Not even kidding.
    *Sciatica (ouch!)
*Indescribable pressure/pain in my hoo-hah for no apparent reason other than "my body is preparing for baby"
*Acid reflux (Tums is no match to this stuff!)

I'm sure there's more. While I love my babies and would go through it again for the same outcome, I LOATHED pregnancy!

I miss feeling the baby kick. That was really cool.

I do not miss the incessant morning sickness that I had 24/7 for nine full months and I don't miss getting tired so easily along with ending up with horrible side stitches with the least amount of exercise.

So true! Definitely nice to be able to take a bath and have my laptop resting on the giant mountain that is my belly at the same time. And who needs a plate when you can balance sandwiches on newly swollen breasts?

I've got 2 children, aged 3 and 1, and i loved most things about being pregnant. My 1st pregnancy was definitely better though, but my son was only 14 months when i got pregnant the 2nd time, so there was no chance of resting.

    What I loved:
    - feeling my babies kick
    - having lovely hair and skin (more the 1st time)
    - having people be nice to me
    - buying baby things
    - allowing myself to eat chocolate guilt free
    - sitting down occasionally at work (I'm a teacher and usually stand up all day) and my pupils getting excited and coming up with name suggestions!
    - maternity leave (i left work at 36 weeks both times and had 9 months off 1st time and a year the 2nd time)

    What I didn't enjoy:
    - feeling rough the 1st trimester (more with my daughter than with my son)
    - not feeling in control of my body
    - gaining weight
    - sleeping badly (2nd pregnancy)
