Hey so my all time favorite recipe for cranberries is like this 12 ounces berries, 1 cup white sugar and 1 cup orange juice....
I would like to cut down the sugar but still want sweet. will splenda work in this recipe? does it cook into a bitter evil??
I thought you might know about this... let me know what you think or if you have any other recipes you think I should try.
Thanks,

I don't really know anything about making cranberry sauce as I think it is the spawn of the devil...
BUT
Can you just start with 1/4 c of sugar and taste it, and if it's not sweet enough add a bit more til you get it JUST sweet enough? Also, from what I see at my Thanksgiving table the amount of cranberrry sauce consumed is really the least of the calorie-minded person's worry.0 -

Yes to all of this. Unless you are eating a pound of cranberry sauce, don't sweat it. Not to mention, Splenda makes everything taste like *kitten*.0 -
I make it with Splenda every year and it tastes great! Even my "non-healthy eating family" had no idea it was made any different. This year I bought a jar of sugar free Smuckers Orange Marmalade to add a bit of as well.0

Another way to make it more sweet without the refined sugar is to use orange juice concentrate and add white grape or apple juice for the water content. Also adding a touch of salt will make the "tart" more palatable.0

see if you can find a jello brand that is sugar free and use it instead. I know they make cranberry, but not sure if they make it sugar free0

I haven't tried this, but most of their recipes are really good!

Make the damned cranberry sauce. Eat a smaller portion. Enjoy your Thanksgiving. You're welcome.0

Unless you're eating a cup of cranberry sauce with a cup of gravy chaser....you could just enjoy it. Yes??0
