Has anyone completed the 17 day diet? I came across the book at the library and thought I would give it a try, the program was also featured on the show, The Doctors.

I have about 60 pounds to lose yet. It took me about 6 months to lose the first 57 - which is the easy half. I doubt 17 days is going to help me, but good luck to you!!:flowerforyou:0

OP - after taking a look at your diary and weight loss goal, I wanted to offer you more realistic advice:
1. Stop trying to find a quick fix diet.
2. Eat what MFP tells you to eat - 700 calorie days aren't going to help you in the long run
3. Find some exercise you enjoy and try to do it a few times a week
4. Eat in moderation - have a lot of good, healthy food and then have some of the foods you crave.
Good luck!0 -
I do use the 17 day diet. For other posters- it is 4 cycles, 17 days each, you rotate the first 3 cycles til you get to your goal and then use the last cycle to be maintaining...
for a lot of people, the information in the book is going to be common sense. it is even common sense for me, HOWEVER, I am someone who, if I am not following a plan, I won't eat healthy foods consistently.
the 17 day diet is set up to teach you how to eat healthier foods and that they don't have to be rice cakes, plain lettuce, etc. It is seriously set up in a way to teach you how to eat for the rest of your life.
If you "mess up" and go off plan, it is important to know that it isn't the end of the world. Just go back to eating your healthy foods ASAP.
Oh, and whether I am following this plan or trying to eat healthy in general, I always have to prep my food a couple days in advance or have a menu (something else I like about the 17 day diet plan is it gives you ideas for menus...)
When I am eating unhealthy, it is mostly because I didn't plan my food or have anything laid out or prepped.
Make sure you do not go below 1200 calories a day. the 17 day diet doesn't mention calorie counting, but when i eat just to being full, I don't even hit 1000 calories...it is because I am eating a lot of filling lean protein and veggies that aren't dense in calories. So, make sure you get in extra snacks that are healthy
Go to the groups setting and search the 17 day diet challenge. there's a few of us in there doing it off and on...ultimately becoming healthier eaters in general thanks to the plan.0
