How many calories do YOU think I should be eating...

Okay.... So I'm wondering what the general consensus will be on this one.

I've been doing a heavy lifting routine since June-ish to drop the remaining lbs that I had after doing a cardio-based (usually ended with some lifting, but it wasn't the core) routine for around 4 months. Now, I've been at my goal weight for around a month, and I'm switching my goals to muscle gain. I know that I need to be eating at a surplus to gain muscle, I get that. I've calculated the calories to maintain my current weight a few different places, the average is around 2106. Sooo... while losing the weight, I was maintaining 1200cals/day. I've recently bumped it to 1400-1500cals/day.

What I'm wondering is if I need to maintain a surplus, I should be eating over the 2106? Logically, it makes sense to me. Yes, I should be eating over it because that would be surplus. But I suppose I'm mindf**king myself because I've been in the lower to mid 1000's each day since February. I feel like if I just jump that high I will inevitably gain a good amount of fat since my body is used to the number I've been at for awhile.

Would it be logical to wean myself up to the 2106+/day?

[Disclaimer- My diary is open, feel free to snoop. Most days look similar to today, minus the fact that I don't normally have chicken and potatoes for lunch-it was just leftovers form yesteday and time was short this morning. Anywho, I use the same supplements everyday, and the rest of the meals are usually in the same cal/macro range. And yes, I know my sodium and sugars suck.]

Advice is appreciated :drinker:
