Ok so I'm new to this and just wondering if 123 calories left for the evening is good?

    Neither good nor bad. It just is. It's fine. You want to try to net close to your goal. You don't want to be way under or way over but I wouldn't worry about 123.

    Given that all calorie counting is just an estimate anyway, I wouldn't sweat 123. Always better to be a little under than a little over, IMHO. :)

    Honestly, what works best for me is "zig zag" calorie intake. So one day I'll have 1200, another day 1400, another day 1300, some days even 1600 or some days less than 1200 (which many people frown upon..) It seems to "trick" my body. But typically it's between 1200-1400.
