Carbs and Sugar Fail

Hi all,
I've been trying to build my protein intake up with houmous and seafood stick snacks and cut down on carbs - hard as I'm a sugar and fruit junkie.
(I would normally consume between 2 and 6 small apples a day!)
Now I'm finding I'm really hungry despite adding the protein, and I can't even eat as much fruit as it's carb heavy!
Then I changed my reporting to sugars as well and I'm gobsmacked by how much over (2-300% daily) of my recommended sugar intake I am. Even if it is all fruit!
So - what can I eat instead of carbs to fill me up?
and - what can I eat instead of fruit to snack on?
[I'm allergic to lactose and anti-eggs]

Lean meat. I like to eat chicken and fish snacks.0

Healthy fats, they fill you up as well as up your protein. Protein can come in so many forms. Take fish oil as well, another way to get some healthy filling fats into your diet.0

replace fruit with veges!
still carbs but it will dramatically reduce sugar.
avoid cereal - savoury breakfasts - veges and protein0 -
fiber fills! High fiber low sugar cereal with plain almond milk in the morning, (plain shredded wheat, fibre 1 cereal, etc) higher fiber breads for lunch, etc. 5 grams of fibre per meal is what I'm shooting for, even adding some fibre supplements. Also some veggies can be high sugar too, like squash, but good natural sugars from fruits and veggies are much better than processed sugars from cookies and cakes. this was the recommendation from my dietician......0

Why are you trying to reduce your carbs if its coming from healthy fruit? Its the refined sugar that's unhealthy, not fruit. Fruit doesn't spike insulin like refined sugar does, the fiber slows down digestion.
I personally love fruit, its really good for you and I would not be a happy camper without it.
If you want to cut back on carbs, don't eat grains, fruit should be the last thing you omit... In my opinion.0
