Sugar Intake

Right this is now driving me insane, I have been watching my sugar intake each day and it makes grim reading I go over by 150% each day and I do not have any treats like chocolate and so on. In the morning I will have a banana with breakfast and an apple with lunch and my daily intake is gone. Surely this can not be right, I mean we need to get our 5 a day in so how can you do this with out going over on sugar, I know there is not a simple answer but surley the body needs more sugar than that.
