does anyone know how much dried kidney beans (dry weight) equals one can (3.5 cups)?:blushing:

it should tell you on the bag what the cooked yield is from the dry amount. i would almost assume that it doubles...like rice, but I don't know........I'm too lazy for dried beans.:blushing:0

I found this on a web site ....hope this helps!
Equivalents: For most beans: 1 pound dried beans = 2 cups dried = 4 - 5 cups cooked beans

And if you end up with extra beans after you've soaked them and cooked them up, then just put them in a freezer safe bowl, add a little water so they don't dry out and throw them in the freezer, then you can unthaw them the next time you need them. I purposely soak lots of extra beans so I can just grab a batch from the freezer anytime I need them.0
