Never trust a number put out by diet food companies.Read this a little earlier today and thought it might cheer everyone up. Relax! Enjoy your friends/family! Eat things you like!

Meh, I worked out my usual Christmas intake (in the UK so no Thanksgiving) and it was closer to 10,000 cals

That's it? Seems like just the cals for dessert not a whole thanksgiving day eating fest

I calculated what I'm "assuming" I'll eat tomorrow and it's around 1000 calories.

    4oz White Meat Turkey
    Serving of Cornbread Stuffing
    Serving of Mashed Potatoes
    Serving of Corn
    Serving of Broccoli
    Serving of Pumpkin Pie

And more than likely I'll go back for seconds after dinner...tomorrow is a free day for me. Hell with maintenance, I'll get back on it Monday...

I stopped reading at "6 oz of Turkey"
  • Yeah, I'm sure the average serving of mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving is half a cup. This article seems like it's trying too hard in the other direction.

The article says that your gut releases nausea hormones after consuming 1500 calories? I WISH that was true!!!

4500 calories? You have to be talking per meal, or per plate. Who eats that little on Thanksgiving?

I doesn't just release them, it kicks them out of the body!
