I am getting so frustrated with myself and I don't know what to do. I just start making some headway and lose a few pounds and then the weekend comes or a celebration of some sort and I gain it all back. Now that the Christmas season is upon us and parties are happening all the time I am constantly eating and drinking and seem to have no will-power to resist. Of course the defeat and frustration I feel because I eat, drink and gain makes me eat, drink and gain more. How does one overcome this?

Go public as you have done. Nothing like the thought of "failure" in front of the whole world to keep you on track.

Usually it takes some sort of event to push you in that direction. For me, it was an event at my daughter's school. I could hardly walk to the door without having to stop a few times to catch my breath - once inside the door, I had to sit on the floor to catch my breath because there were no chairs, and everyone coming in had to walk around me. I was so humiliated, embarrassed, mortified, and my daughter was standing right beside me. It was that moment that I said, "Something HAS GOT to change!!"
Once you make your mind up, it'll happen.0
