Started Mon 2/1/2010 - 184.0 - embarrassed.....how could this happen......
Day 2
181.4 - freaking excited...
Day 3
same - still happy.....
Day 4
same - starting to feel worried no change...not so happy.....and SORE.....
THIS is where I decided I needed to find MOTIVATION fast!
What MORE than having to look at my body in a bikini every day when I open up my laptop?? (the body the way it looks at 184 rather than the way it used to look at 115)....
So - off I went to snap some shots using the timer feature of the camera... (so no one else had to see this blob of a mess but me!)
Uploaded the pic to my laptop folder.....Navigated to it....opened it....Right clicked on it and selected: "SET AS DESKTOP BACKGROUND"....and wallah! Even though it is a horrible sight in my mind (and actually depressing) --it was a SURE MOTIVATOR for me to force some X-TRA exercise last night -- in an effort to IMPROVE upon that image between now and swim-suit season....
Some folks may prefer to put pic of how they once looked ----or a pic of a bod of what they want to achieve --- but that has not worked for me personally -- nor has hanging up a swimsuit or hot outfit as a goal to get into..... -- so, I resorted to the "SHOCK n' AWE" method..... meaning: OMG! - THAT is SCARY! (shock) and AHHH, is THAT ALL YOU GOT in you is 10 minutes of activity FOR A FULL DAY OF 15 HOURS OF AWAKE TIME? - YOU CAN DO BETTER than that TODAY! as my (Awe/Ahhh)
Now,
DAY 5 - I'm down ANOTHER POUND to a total of 4 POUNDS this week!
That slight drop to 180.1 was probably the result of pushing to do a LITTLE MORE exercise last night when I really did NOT want to.....(AFTER SEEING THAT PIC AGAIN AT THE END OF MY DAY)....to muster up a little more effort....
(Now, I'm EXTREMELY happy I did! and feel motivated again!)
TOTAL OF MINUTES THAT YOU ARE AWAKE = x (vs) TOT BEING ACTIVE?
If you think about it in terms of percentages....how many minutes/hours do you spend sitting, lying on couch, playing on the computer chatting, Facebooking, researching diets, etc.....VERSUS.....# of minutes/hours do you spend doing SOME SORT of calorie burning activity? Walk dog, walk yourself to end of your street n' back.....or walk the length of 6 houses today....7 tomorrow....8 the next and so on (make it a game!)....Do band exercises while watching TV...or even better, leg kicks standing or lying on side.....standing twists.....boxing punches....treadmill..... (don't need to have expensive equip to get the heart rate moving!)
Hope the DESKTOP tip works for/motivates you too!
