My Promises to Myself

I got married on August 16th of this year and weighed 133lbs on the day. We had a fabulous day and went on to a fabulous honeymoon (2 weeks in Croatia) where I successfully (I think anyway!) put on just 3lbs!

We’re three months on and life is good. And I am stuffing my face and have no real appetite for exercise. Suffice to say I *think* I’ve put on about 10lbs. Oh my god!

So this is my mission statement to myself.

1. I’m going to take care of my body so my body takes care of me.
2. I’m going to do some form of exercise (minimum of 30 minutes) 5 times a week.
3. To start with AT LEAST 3 of those will be done at the gym (that I am paying for an using once a week at best).
4. I am going to give up smoking PROPERLY
5. I am going to lose 5lbs by Christmas
6. I am going to learn to love my body for all the amazing things it can do.
7. I am going to learn to lift well and lift heavy.
8. I am not going to find excuses (this includes a headache, too hungry, got to clean the house, its raining)
9. For every packet of cigarettes I do not buy I am going to save £8 towards my trip to America in August next year
10. I am going to set myself specific fitness related goals and these are more important than losing the pounds.
11. I AM GOING TO WEIGH AND MEASURE TOMORROW MORNING AND LOG TOMORROW.

So who is with me? What is your mission statement? How are you going to stick to it and what is your motivation?

Will check back tomorrow with details of the exact damage done. Oh and one more…

12. I am not going to punish myself when I slip up. I am just going to get back on that wagon and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

  • Hello!

My mission is to lead a healthier lifestyle which I think will increase my happiness!
I've currently lost 8lbs and am at 124lbs with only 6lbs to lose before my first goal :)
I want to keep exercise in my diet as I am very on/off with it and I'd like to look in the mirror and feel happy with myself :)
