heart rate monitor malfunctioning

I have a polar heart rate monitor, and recently it keeps on dropping my heart rate or records it very low... liek at 42, when thats just not possible!
Does any one else have this issue??

I do...usually if I readjust my chest strap it will correct itself.

I've had that problem too and it's VERY frusterating!! Have you washed the strap? That seemed to fix my problem some.. just make sure it's with mild soap in the sink!

I usually have to re-adjust it, or have to make sure it's rinsed really good. I usuall wash it in the washer at least once a month.
