I started working out this week at the gym. The first day I worked out, I did 40 min on treadmill and 40 min on a stationary bike. This morning I went to work out again. I only made it 10 min on the treadmill as my lower legs were KILLING ME! Bad pain. It's on the outside, above the ankles. Is that normal? I don't hurt anywhere else, just in that spot on both legs.

That's normal for too much too soon. Once your legs stop hurting go back to the gym and start out with a much shorter workout. Let your legs adapt. Gradually increase the amount of time working out as you find out how much your legs can take. They will adapt quickly as long as you don't overstrain them.0

Ok, thanks!0

Is it your calves hurting? If so, yes that is normal, especially for beginners. Make sure you stretch after your workout.0

Sounds kinda like splints....sometimes called shin splints. I've gotten them in my shins and heels. It will eventually go away, but until they do...it is very painful.0

Sorry to hear about your pain. You are starting out with a lot. You can try icing it and easing off a bit and starting more gradually.
The ice really helps a lot!!
You can also look up peroneal tendonitis. Not sure if that's what you have but that's a tendon that runs around the ankle.
Good luck to you!0
