I have been running for about 6 months. Yes, your legs, hips, and butt are going to get a LOT of work. Because of my age, my skin was beginning to sag and look really wrinkled at my quads and knees. The muscle has filled them out. Looks so much better. Just make sure you run some hills. I have also noticed that my waist is smaller. I found out that the movement of arms work oblique muscles. Runner's World is a great place to find out what you need to know. Just make sure you have great shoes and correct running form. If you are planning on competing, you will probably need to do some weights, lunges, etc. Core work is also great because of stronger muscle it produces. Good luck!0

Hi Bernadette thanks for the reply - feeling a little foolish as the post was in the wrong thread.
My daily run is a 3 mile flat along a sea front then I elevate it to the cliff path which is very up and down = so 3 miles back home - such an awesome run!
I am working on my plank as well and my next goal is to be able to do some push ups - i have weights at home but no access to a gym as it is out of my financial reach = I love the running and am so pleased with how my legs are looking! = peace and all respect to you thankyou for your time my friend ,.
