Knee pain and back hip pain

Anyone else having a problem with their knees? I'm not trying to complain my way out of doing the 30-day shred. I have a love/hate relationship with it but like what I'm seeing after 4 days of it BUT my knee was having major random hurting spasms earlier today. They stopped so I did my 4th day today and the same knee cap hurt during the workout so I jogged instead of doing the jumping jacks etc. Then my other knee hurt after today's shred.
I used to be a major gym bunny and know good form - not that it means I might not being doing this perfectly but I feel I am paying major attention to my form. I've always avoided high impact exercise because I have really bad shin splints since childhood but those aren't bothering me at all. It's my knees now? I know it hasn't been long but I feel like I am making a new habit of doing the 30DS and feel I am on a roll so to speak that I don't want to change what's working for me mentally, but my body isn't going along. Advice?
I am also curious about stretches for the muscle behind your hip bone (your back side between your butt and waist - official name I do not know). I had an old runner's injury to that muscle and side stretches and usual exercises don't seem to relieve that either and wasn't sure if anyone has a great tip to that as both sides are now quite tight and sore despite following the normal warm up and cool downs of some of my DVD's.

Seems like every day there's 1-2 posts about 30 day shred and knee pain. Look up the site mobilitywod, particularly hipflexor exercises.0

30DS made me VERY aware of a knee problem - I cut out the jumping jacks, then the squats, and the lunges. Any impact or weight-bearing knee bending no longer works for me. I've just made my own routine using different elements of 30DS and P90. Seems to be working....0
